Gifty Ayoka
Founder/ Speech Therapist
Gifty Ayoka is a devoted Speech and Language Therapist and Inclusion Advocate. Her career took a remarkable turn when her son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2014, prompting her transition from banking to pursuing a Master of Science degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Gifty’s advocacy work is comprehensive, involving engagement with governmental bodies, religious organizations, and the establishment of the Talking Tipps Africa Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and their families.
A key focus of her advocacy is promoting access to Assistive Technology for those with communication disabilities. Gifty has also shared her research on Autism at international conferences in Kenya and Ethiopia.
Furthermore, she is a prominent voice in media, writing articles for newspapers,
participating in radio and television discussions, and being featured on the BBC Africa daily podcast. Gifty Ayoka’s journey exemplifies her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of individuals with communication disabilities, breaking down barriers, and advocating for inclusivity on both local and global stages.
Akwasi Peprah-Odoom
Board Chairman
Akwasi Peprah-Odoom is a seasoned banker with over a decade of experience in leadership positions. His career roles and additional responsibilities have been dedicated to effective corporate governance at both executive and board levels.
Akwasi’s passion for the foundation stems from the numerous barriers he has observed people with vulnerability encounter in executing their daily activities. Contrary to his belief that all persons deserve a quality life and having fundamental human rights, he has over the years in his personal and professional capacities seen these persons struggle to access quality life.
He holds M.Sc in Economics (Banking and Finance) from KNUST, Ghana, M.B.A (General Management) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and a B.Sc in Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
His leadership acumen and qualifications will be leveraged on to drive the strategies of the foundation with the ultimate desire to achieve its vision.
Nana Mensah Otoo
Board Member
Nana Mensah Otoo is a Solicitor and Barrister at the Superior Courts of Ghana with a specialization in International Taxation in the field of Double Taxation Agreements Negotiations, Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP), Exchange of Information as well as Corporate legal practices. An exceptional negotiator is deeply familiar with litigation and case management. A member of the Ghana Barristers Association with over 15 years of experience in Tax and Customs, Research Methodology, and Quality Assurance.
Nana holds M.A. (Public Finance) from the Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan, QCL – Ghana School of Law, Accra. Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) – GIMPA – Accra, B.A (Economics) – UCC, Ghana, and Diploma in Applied Insurance – CII, Malta.
